So I just love Tuesdays...

It doesn't sound like a special day to most, but I love it because its usually a day that me and Tyler take a break away from the gym and do something fun & active together. Then we usually just take it easy at home, have a yummy dinner & hangout. It just melts my heart when Tyler looks at me and says, " Can we hangout tonight?" Because being married you of course see eachother all the time, so the fact that he asks to spend time with me I just find so sweet!! Usually on these days we will go on a long walk and talk or a bike ride.. But I think tonight we are going to play some volleyball. Its a really good workout & your having fun outside so whats not to like. Having a handsome man to look at is just an added bonus haha The key to getting a good workout with volleyball though is finding someone that can keep the ball going so you can get your heart pumping and stay moving. Tyler's actually really good so I love playing with him because were able to bump the ball back and fourth for a long time.. Plus were competitive so we always try and see how many times we can bump it in a row without it dropping...

I have always absolutely loved volleyball. I played 3 years in junior high, but didn't play high school. I should have and I honestly do regret that. I didn't go out for it because of fear. I was so shy & thought I wouldn't be as good as all the others on the team that went to camps over the summer and it freaked me out at the idea of  playing in front of a bunch of people I didn't know. So instead of overcoming that fear I let fear win... And I hate that I let fear win there.

Each time we face our fears we gain strength, courage & confidence.

I'm reading this book called, " Just Courage". And in this book the following part spoke to me so much... This guy tells a story about when he was a little boy and he went on a hike with his dad and brothers. They got to this point in the trail where there was a warning sign that warned against going any further due to advanced terrain. The father and brothers wanted to go, but he didn't think he could do it. His father tried to reassure him that he would be there to help him, even carry him if he needed him to, but the boy insisted he couldn't do it and said he would rather spend time in the Visitor's Center. So the boy spent time in the Visitor's Center waiting for his father & brothers to get done hiking. The boy was having fun at first, but then he realized yes he was totally safe-but totally stuck. Later on in the car as his father and brothers were going on and on about how much fun they had he said to himself.. " I went on the trip, but missed the adventure." He then states that our heavenly Father offeres us a simple proposition: Follow Jesus beyond what you can control, beyond where your own strength and competencies can take you, and beyond what is affirmed or risked by the crowd- and you will experience me and my power and my wisdow and my love.

Do you want to be stuck at the Visitor's Center your whole life being safe and comfortable or are you willing to take a risk and go on the the adventure. I don't know about you, but I don't want to miss out on the adventure. And I know just like that guy's father our heavenly Father just wants us to trust him to be our guide and know that he will take care of us.
